Cynthia Erivo, MBE is an Emmy, Tony, two-time Grammy Award-winning and three-time Academy Award-nominated actress, singer, author and producer. She rose to international prominence with her Tony Award-winning performance in The Color Purple on Broadway and made her highly-anticipated return to the West End stage this year with the one-woman show Dracula. In film, following standout performances in Widows and Bad Times at the El Royale, she received international acclaim for her performance as Harriet Tubman in Kasi Lemmons’ Harriet. Erivo has received widespread critical acclaim and rave reviews for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked including Golden Globe, SAG, Critics’ Choice, NAACP, BAFTA, and Academy Award nominations. She returned to the role for Wicked: For Good.
In June of 2025, Erivo released her second studio album, I Forgive You, and in November 2025, she published the New York Times bestseller Simply More: A Book for Anyone Who Has Been Told They’re Too Much. She is attending the festival with her latest film, an adaptation of Suzie Miller’s stage hit Prima Facie, which she will talk about in this screen talk.
