Screenings

Silvia lives on the remote island of Santa María with her partner Mario, harvesting seaweed and cleaning houses. When she encounters a litter of pups, apparently abandoned along the coastline, she takes one home – an act that re-opens wounds from an earlier trauma. Sotomayor’s film is an ambitious drama about the forging of community that employs landscape and memory to powerful effect.
